HMI/ Hmm, what have we been doing during the last days?? I guess Tosi has continued her 'socialising program', she has been with us in many places, met nice dogs etc. Some dogs are still a bit frightening but some she just ignores and some are good to play with. She has been practising small things that hopefully form a good basis for obedience and especially agility career much later. I'm getting my normal panic with the fact that the puppy is soon 12 weeks and should have got very (but not too) much different experiences and learnt minor skills. Well, perhaps she has got those experiences, at least she has lived our ordinary life and has also been provided some extra happenings. And of course, her socialising will continue for a long time.

The greatest news of the last weekend was that Taru did so fine in agility! Taru and Samu finally moved up to the highest class. And even more, they won their first start in class three! On Saturday there were three starts for class two. One of them was a jumping class and because Taru already has 0-result from that (to move up in classes, only one result can be from the jumping class), she was to take only two starts. In the first one Taru did just a great course with no faults and won :).

That meant that she was not allowed to do her second start but they started in class three next day instead. And what did they do? A clean run that lead to a win! In Finland, to gain a championship in agility a dog has to get three wins with no faults in class three so that there's at least 1 year and 1 day between the first and the last wins. That's why we're talking about a 'champion clock' that ticks. So Taru's champion clock started to tick now!

Taru got even a permission to run the second course unofficially, as a kind of test dog. This was also a very exemplary course - about all the possible mistakes that can be done in that course :D Finally she took part in the team course and did well, one denial but otherwise fine from the young eager beaver.

Here's a video of the two winning runs.

Those competitions were also district championships in the highest class. Myytti took part but did not well - in three courses, together several bars were dropped. I'm not disappointed because I of course see that Myytti (f.ex. district champion 2004) is not at her best any more. Oh little Tosi, you have so big boots to jump in..! What was funny was that old Kosmo (soon 10 years and deaf in practice) run one course in our team. He was a reserve but was needed in the actual team. He hadn't done a course since district champs last year but he did very cutely! A clean run, not so fast but under standard time anyway! He was fresh afterwards, so definitely that run was not too hard to him.

During the weekend Tosi naturally met many new people, dogs, noises, and so on. I played with her, she did small walks, slept in the car and did (terror)things that puppies use to do ;)
