SP/ Our "almost annual Särkänniemi day" took place last Friday. Other dogs stayed at home while Tosi continued her socialising programme. It was really hot (plus some other factors provided) so we knew it would be quite a test for a puppy. But she survived! She was walking very elegantly but some of the machines were making noices that were - in the beginning - quite terrible. Luckily, there were always more quiet corners to withdrow if things were to get out of hands. After a while Tosi got used to noices and masses of screaming and running children. And she even managed to find a place to sleep, as well, when it was time to. Maybe she even got too relaxed as she figured out there were lots of fancy stuff to pick up from the ground - like cigarettes, junk food, chichen bones, puke etc. So in the end it turned out to be more stressful for Hanna - who was in charge of Tosi as I was guiding a human puppy - I guess. But, as said, we all survived and surely had a nice time.

Otherwise we've continued doing old tricks and tried to learn new ones. Tosi has been 'swimming', eating flowers, digging and so on. She has also met some fellow puppies - a bit older ones - and did get along very well.

Taru and Myytti were training agility on Sunday. Short courses with no special plan, neither this time... I wanted to try something but didn't really know how and with which obstacles. So, it turned out to be one of those "lots of pain, nothing gained" practices. In the end I managed to do some quite ok runs, so let's hope Taru gained something. Myytti had no problems. It's really admirable how Hanna knows exactly what works with M and what doesn't - and then she just performs the handling with no problems.

We will still have one or two training sessions before the forthcoming weekend with Regional Champs. As Taru is still in class 2, she won't go for the championship one but will nevertheless start twice on Saturday and once on Sunday (she will represent Ylökk in team competition together with Myytti and two other dogs as there were not enough willing class 3 dogs available). We also made plans for the following two months: altogether 20 starts for Taru and 12 for Myytti. I hope some of those with Taru would be already at class 3 (still missing one 0-result in top 3)!
