Last weekend Taru was in an agility competition and she did it well this time! We had almost given up with the aim to qualify to Finnish Championships this summer but now we have got some hope again. Taru got one more leg towards qualifying, and even if she still lacks the most difficult one, that is two clean runs in a row during one day, she presented a good level of skills. Samu handled very well both of the day’s runs. The first course was clean and resulted in a victory! Handling to slalom was the most secure option and it probably wasn’t the fastest alternative, but taking Taru’s slalom skills into account it was a good choose. (Samu perhaps didn’t agree but believed me anyway, and I’m sure I was right about it Cool). The second run was also very nice but unfortunately they got a contact mistake. It’s not typical to Taru but still, with contacts one always has to be awake. So we’ll keep our eyes on it.

Taru is such a freak that I guess it would be a good idea to keep her busy days before agility competitions also in the future. This time we namely had done quite long and demanding obedience trainings and thorough walks during the week and had even a morning agility session during the competition day, and Taru had just good state of mind this time.

Tosi is quite strange right now. In one moment she’s a dream puppy, in the second she’s very unstable. We have stressed basic things, environment training etc a lot. I hope it’s just her age, perhaps she just has it a bit “more stormy” than our older ones have had.
